Production
Cast-Extrusion
Since the early 1970s, we have been one of the first manufacturers in Germany to produce high-quality polypropylene films (CPP). On our high-performance cast extrusion systems, we produce high-quality mono- and co-extruded films with up to 5 layers for a wide range of applications around the clock. High transparency, excellent peeling properties, sterilizability or excellent anti-fog properties, whatever you require, we will solve even your most demanding tasks.
Blownextrusion
We have been producing blown film since the late 1970s. Our WENTERRA® brand has been synonymous with biodegradable blown film since the early 1990s, long before the term “sustainability” became common. Innovation in blown film extrusion is our DNA to this day. With our flexible, up to 9-layer blown film extruders, we supply a wide range of end markets, such as food and hygiene packaging, or deliver to converters for the most demanding special applications. We are there for you around the clock, 365 days a year.
Printing Department
We have been applying colour to our films using flexographic printing for 40 years. We addressed increasingly demanding requirements early on by investing in HD flexographic printing. For 20 years we have been satisfying our customers with the quality in which we replace existing rotogravure motifs. Matt and gloss varnishes have become so natural as tactile varnishes that make your products a real eye-catcher on the shelf. Whether you want to have 10 µm foils printed or need sterilization-proof colours, we look forward to showing you what we can do.
The solvents in our inks are regeneratively burned afterwards, the heat generated is used to dry the inks in the printing process, thus keeping the impact on the environment as low as possible.
Lamination
To combine the special properties of different foils with one another, we combine up to three foils on our high-precision laminating systems with solvent-free or solvent-based adhesive systems. In doing so, we ensure that hardly any solvent residues remain in the film composites. By hanging all laminated rolls for a sufficient time in our temperature-controlled storage with a capacity of almost 300 rolls, we ensure that the bonding meets the requirements. Further operation continues only when they have reached their quality there.
Slitting
For most of our products, cutting to the desired width is the last step. We can create up to 12 single reels next to each other from one mother reel. In addition, we can make perforations or holes in the film with a laser and do this in freely definable shapes, longitudinally and transversely to the winding direction. On request, we can also apply perforations using hot-needle, dry-point or punching processes. After numerous final quality controls, we then pack your reels of film and send them on their way to protect your product and present it in an eye-catching manner.
Bag-Making
We started in 1965 with foil funnels in a wide variety of designs and for a wide variety of applications. Whether for potted and cut flowers or herbs, whether manual or machine packaging, we develop a customized solution for every application.
Since 1992 we have been producing organic waste bags in various sizes from our biodegradable films with banderols or in folding boxes.
We also produce gusseted bags for you, for example for spices and flavours, in a barrier film coloured as required. Needless to say, the film for this also comes from our own extrusion.
Warehouse and Logistics
Before the manufactured products make their way to our international customers, they are stored temporarily in our heated finished goods warehouse on one of over 3,000 storage spaces.
No unnecessary and environmentally unfriendly transports to intermediate storage facilities: Before we send your manufactured products on their way, they do not leave our premises. We store them exclusively under our roof in heated warehouses with over 3,000 storage spaces. An experienced team arranges your delivery and organizes the transport on your desired date.
Laboratory
In our laboratory, in addition to numerous measurements such as permeabilities, infrared spectrometry and DSC analyses, we also carry out quality controls during production to ensure that our film solutions meet and exceed your requirements. This is our quality commitment and has been confirmed for years by an impressively high level of customer satisfaction compared to the industry.
